Launching in November 2012, this three-year programme works with 14 and 15 year olds across the Thames Valley. The programme is designed to build resilience, confidence and aspiration to enable vulnerable young people to progress in their lives, particularly in terms of education and work. Energise focuses on the towns of Aylesbury, Banbury, Oxford, High Wycombe, Milton Keynes, Reading and Slough, as well as some work with young people in rural areas.
At Woodrow, young people from the programme get to make full use of the space on offer, with workshops and learning taking place in our 17th Century manor house, as well as participating in the more challenging activities on offer outdoors. Adviza have been bringing groups to Woodrow regularly over many years now, and it’s always been a pleasure to work with them!
And the programme has been delivering great outcomes so far. You can find out more about the Energise model and see how the residential experience supports its aims by watching this short video (which was in fact filmed at our very own Woodrow and can be watched below).
We’re looking forward to working with Adviza again in the future and supporting the young people they work with to reach their full potential!
