24 April 2015

On the 18th of April, 7 youth clubs had the opportunity to see what important benefits outdoor education has to offer at the first ever Woodrow Taster Day.

30 young people enjoyed the great weather, where everyone had the chance to take part in Archery and the Challenge Course. There was a tour of the house and a workshop where the staff received very useful feedback about what clubs would like to see at Woodrow.

The following clubs came to experience what Woodrow has to offer:

SAS Martial Arts

Clapham Youth Centre

Downside Fisher

Caius House

YMCA LSW

DOST

South Central Youth Club

Andrea Edwards, Development Manager, commented:

"The best thing about the whole day though was seeing the young people from the clubs working in teams with other clubs in mixed age groups, something which never normally happens. They all appreciated the chance to network and make some new contacts. Downside Fisher even gave Caius House a lift home in their mini bus.

Thanks to all the help from Martin, Sav, Josh, Rachel and Kirsty the day went really smoothly, with the consensus it should become an annual event."
