Phase two of our sports development programme recruitment for 2020 – 2021
26 October 2020
We are excited to open the second phase of recruitment for our flagship Getting Active programme.
We are currently recruiting up to 70 community youth organisations from London Youth members across all boroughs to work with us to deliver safe and enjoyable sport and physical activity opportunities for young Londoners (all in-line with current COVID-19 guidance requirements).
We recognise the impact COVID-19 has and continues to have on the young people you support and the communities you work in. Getting Active focuses on four key outcomes:
- Improving physical and mental wellbeing
- Strengthening and supporting peer relationships
- Improving attitudes and understanding of the importance of being regularly active
- Building confidence and capacity within community youth organisations
We place particular emphasis on supporting young people who are inactive or less active, as well as those who face barriers in accessing regular sport and physical activity opportunities outside formal education. Whatever the focus of your organisation, whatever the size of your organisation, our Getting Active Programme is created to be accessible to all members so we can all work to enable young Londoners to be healthier, happier, and better connected.
Getting Active (8 – 13-year olds)
What: 30 weeks of sport and physical opportunities delivered between October 2020 and August 2021 to young people aged 8 – 13. How and what you deliver is what we want you to tell us. All we ask is that you consider the four key outcome areas mentioned above and focus on supporting inactive/less active young people. You can find out further information via the proposal guidance here
Who: Up to 70 London Youth members from any London borough
When: The deadline for proposals is Sunday 15th November at Midday.
Please submit your proposals online here
We anticipate this taking no more than 40 minutes. Please note, we cannot support every proposal submitted and successful proposals must meet the Due Diligence requirements
