Partnership Delivers Football Coaching Opportunity
19 September 2014
Friday 19 September
London Youth and Active Communities Network (ACN) will be holding a FA Level 1 coaching course in the October half term at London Youth member community youth organisation The Brunswick Club for Young People. The course will be delivered by London FA and will give 20 youth workers and young leaders from Getting Ready, ACN and Brunswick the opportunity to be trained up as qualified football coaches.
The course is being fully funded by Active Communities Network while the venue is being provided for free by Brunswick. The 20 youth workers and young leaders will then go back to their youth clubs having committed to doing ten hours of volunteer coaching.
Kieran Connolly, Sports Development Officer at London Youth said: “Training up youth workers is an integral part of the Getting Ready model. It means that young people attending our member clubs will receive high standard football sessions and ensure that the sessions themselves are delivered in-house and allows our members to have further control over the sporting provision within their club. Special thanks must go to Active Communities who have fully funded the course, London FA who are delivering the course and The Brunswick Club who have provided the venue in kind.”
