On 11th April, Mims Davies MP, Minister for Sport and Civil Society, and the Department for Culture, Media & Sport (DCMS) announced that they will develop a new Youth Charter. DCMS says that the Youth Charter will reaffirm “young people’s place at the heart of policy, making sure their voices are heard on important issues that affect them, from decisions about the environment, the schools they attend, support for mental health, or how we tackle serious violence”.

The Government will work with youth sector organisations and young people over the next months to develop the charter. London Youth will be actively engaging with DCMS to ensure that the voice of our network of 450+ member organisations is heard. If you would like to be involved, please follow the link below.

As part of our Champion London Youth campaign, London Youth has been lobbying Mims Davies MP to ensure that there is a significant reinvestment in the youth sector as part of the 2019 Spending Review.

If you are a London Youth member and would like to be more involved, we encourage you to join our Policy Advisory Group, a new way for our members to be at the heart of our policy and media work.
