London Community Response Fund

London Community Response Fund

Apply: Applications are now open for Wave 2 Grants: 

  • Crisis Response (grants of up to £10,000 to enable organisations to meet the immediate needs of communities, from food and essentials, to equipment and additional short-term staff costs). 
  • Delivering Differently (grants of £10,000-50,000 to enable organisations to change the way they deliver their work to ensure it continues to meet the needs of their communities).

Youth Endowment Fund

Youth Endowment Fund

Apply: Applications are open for the COVID-19 Grant Round (closes 12pm Wednesday 3rd June): 

  • 1) Digital/virtual delivery of programmes 
  • 2) Face-to-face activity that can be delivered whilst adhering to social distancing/stay at home guidelines 
  • The minimum grant is £25,000 with no maximum (proportionate to organisational turnover) with an expected average size of £50,000. 

A £6.5 million fund (half of which has been reserved for applications from charities and social enterprisesto reach and support vulnerable young people at risk of youth violence, and to learn the best ways to provide support under social distancing and stay-at-home guidelines. Find out more here

National Lottery Community Fund

National Lottery Community Fund

Apply: Applications are open for COVID-19 support funding, including the £200 million Coronavirus Community Support Fund: 

  • COVID-19 Funding under £10,000: £300 – £10,000 grants to support people and communities affected by COVID-19 and organisations overcome acute financial difficulties.
  • COVID-19 Funding over £10,000: Grants of £10,000 – £100,000 for up to six months of expenditure to support people affected by COVID-19 or to fund organisations that are affected.
  • Some pre-existing funding remains open, but TNL warns that applications may be delayed.

All funding decisions for the next six months (£300 million) will focus on addressing COVID-19 and accelerate the cash part of this funding as much as possible. Find out more here

Youth Futures Foundation

Apply: Applications are now open for the Rolling Grants Programme (6-12 month planning period with delivery from January 2021) 

  • Development Grants£30,000 – £100,000 pa over 1-2 yearsSupporting over 50 young people per year towards employment. 
  • Impact Grants: c. £100,000 – £800,000 pa for 1-5 years. Supporting over 150 young people per year towards employment.

The Government is providing a £750 million financial support package for the charity sector, including £370 million for smaller charities, through bodies like the National Lottery Community Fund and funding from Government departments. Find out more here 

Coronavirus Job Retention Scheme

Coronavirus Job Retention Scheme

All employers (including charities) are able to furlough staff and HMRC will reimburse employers 80% of furloughed workers’ wage costs, up to a cap of £2,500 per month, backdated to 1st March. Find out more here

Coronavirus Business Interruption Loan Scheme

Coronavirus Business Interruption Loan Scheme

The scheme helps small and medium-sized organisation to access loans and other kinds of finance up to £5 million. The government guarantees 80% of the finance to the lender and pays interest and any fees for the first 12 months. The Government has relaxed the eligibility criteria to make this available to charities. Find out more here.

 

Statutory Sick Pay Relief

Statutory Sick Pay Relief

All employers are eligible to be reimbursed up to 2 weeks’ Statutory Sick Pay per eligible employee who has been off work because of COVID-19. Find out more here.

VAT Deferment

Organisations will not need to make VAT payments from 20 March 2020 until 30 June 2020Find out more here.

Retail and Hospitality Grant Scheme

Charities with retail arms, such as charity shops, may be eligible for grants of £10,000 – £25,000 per property. Find out more here.

Apply: Applications are open for the £200 million Coronavirus Community Support Fund: 

  • COVID-19 Funding under £10,000: £300 – £10,000 grants to support people and communities affected by COVID-19 and organisations overcome acute financial difficulties.
  • COVID-19 Funding over £10,000: Grants of £10,000 – £100,000 for up to six months of expenditure to support people affected by COVID-19 or to fund organisations that are affected.

  •  Loneliness Covid-19 Grant Fund: The Department for Digital, Culture, Media & Sport (DCMS) has made £5 million available to national organisations working to tackle loneliness and build social connections.

COVID-19 Food Charity Grant Scheme

Apply: Applications are open (closes 6 July):

  • COVID-19 Food Charity Grant Scheme: The Department for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs (DEFRA) is providing £16 million of immediate support to keep food charities and front-line food aid charities open and supporting the vulnerable, due to the economic impacts of COVID-19, with a continual supply of food otherwise not accessed through usual routes.
