London Youth appoint Rosemary Watt-Wyness as Chief Executive
We are delighted to announce that Rosemary Watt-Wyness has been appointed as the new Chief Executive of London Youth and will join the organisation in April 2016. An experienced and successful voluntary sector leader, Rosemary has previously been Chief Executive of PACE and Director of Strategy and Policy at the Princes Trust. She will be joining us from the MS Society where she is currently Director of Services and Support. Rosemary is passionate about young people, youth work and outdoor education. She brings a broad range of skills and expertise to lead theorganisation forward.

I am really excited to be joining London Youth. It is an organisation I feel has made a great contribution to the youth sector in London and to the lives of young Londoners. I have been really impressed with their positivity and the hugely important work they do with young people and their member clubs. I look forward to starting in the role and adding my contribution.” 

Julian Beare, Chair of London Youth, remarks;

We’re very much looking forward to Rosemary coming on board and to benefiting from her new energy, ideas and expertise, building on the brilliant platform that the team have built over recent years.”

Rosemary will be taking the helm from Rosie Ferguson, who will be leaving London Youth in March after 11 years, four of those as Chief Executive, through which she has led the organisation through a highly successful period of growth and innovation. Rosie will be taking six months off to go travelling and pursue her interest in improvin Chicago before returning to London next September.

Rosie says:

I’m really excited to be handing over to Rosemary. She will provide great leadership for London Youth.  I’m already learning from her in the short time I’ve known her and I am confident she will ensure the organisation and our network continue to thrive and make an even bigger difference with and for young Londoners.”

Rosemary will be starting on 7th April 2016. In the meantime the London Youth team are focused as ever on supporting and challenging young people to be the best they can be with and through our brilliant membership network,  our residential centres Hindleap and Woodrow and all our terrific partners.
