Below you can find answers to common questions about London Youth membership. If you have a question that is not covered here, get in touch with us at membership@londonyouth.org.

Who is eligible to join London Youth?

We welcome a variety of organisations that work with and support young people in London. Our members represent the diversity of our city: theatres, sports clubs, arts organisations, urban farms, youth centres and more. Some members provide services to specific groups, such as young carers or refugees, and others work with young people on a wider scale. You must directly deliver your work to children and/or young people in London, outside of statutory education settings. We do not offer membership to profit-making companies. Depending on the type of organisation you are, you may not be able to access the full range of our offer. Please contact us if you have questions.

How can I join?

Becoming a member of London Youth is quick and easy. You can find our application form on our membership page. Once submitted, one of our team will be in touch within five working days to confirm your eligibility and to share details about how to pay your membership fee.

If you have been a member of London Youth in the past and are looking to re-join, please let us know by emailing us.

How much is membership?

Membership costs between £100 – £200 per organisation for the current membership year (1 April 2022 – 31 March 2023). The structure is as follows:

  • Turnover under £100k: £100 annual fee
  • Turnover £100k-£1m: £150 annual fee
  • Turnover over £1m: £200 annual fee

After submitting your application form, you will receive instructions on how to make your payment. You can pay your fee online by credit or debit card, or contact us to request BACS transfer. We cannot accept payments in instalments.

If you join between 1 April and 30 September, you will pay the full fee above.

If you join between 1 October and 31 December, you will pay 50% of the fee.

If you join after 1 January, you will pay for the remainder of the current year, at a 25% rate, plus the next year. For example, if your income is under £100k, if you join on 1 January 2023, we will charge you £125, which will activate your membership until 31 March 2024.

 

What do I and my youth organisation get as a London Youth member?

We have a range of excellent member benefits that will help support you as a youth practitioner, as well as your organisation and the young people you support.  

We offer member-only events and trainings, access to our acclaimed Quality Assurance levels and an opportunity to be part of our policy and campaign work for the youth sector in London. You can apply for our programmes, from employability, sport, arts, youth social action to mental health and wellbeing. At London Youth, we provide tailored and inspiring opportunities to children and young people across London. 

Who from my organisation is able to access the member benefits?

Anyone affiliated with your organisation from volunteers to trustees is able to access any of London Youth’s member benefits. If your organisation is a national charity, it can only be those that operate or deliver your youth services in London.

I’m a member, how do I create an account for the member hub?

All individuals who are affiliated with one of our member youth organisations to create their own account for our member hub. You can do this by clicking here and following the instructions on the page.  

I’m a member, how do I register for member only events?

To register for the events, you must first create an account for our member hub. Once you have verified your details you can register for our events on our website. Two people per organisation can attend each session so please feel free to register yourself and a colleague for any of these 

How do I update my organisation's contact details?

If you want to update any details we hold on you, such as your organisation’s name, address, or contact email, please let us know by contacting membership@londonyouth.org

How do I renew my membership?

London Youth renews all memberships in March, ready for the new membership year to start on 1 April. Your organisation’s primary contact will receive detailed instructions on how to do this. It is a quick process which involves updating your organisational profile and paying your membership fee online
