London Youth Awards 2023 Nominations

Why?

The term ‘youth professional’ encompasses the many roles that people involved in the sector can take on as part of their contribution to the lives of young Londoners.  

Without youth professionals there is no youth work. When we say ‘good youth work works’ what we’re really recognising is the hard work of committed, skilled and experienced youth professionals. 

Our award principles

• We’re not looking for the best-written application. 
• We’re looking for nominations that tell a story and demonstrate impact, backed up by relevant information. 
• Bullet points are absolutely fine. 
• We don’t require or accept any supplementary documentation (e.g. impact reports, imagery, videos, budgets). 
• The awards recognise youth work’s impact on young people – great nominations will include their voices. 

What does it recognise?

This award acknowledges a youth professional whose work has positively impacted young Londoners through direct delivery.  

Who?

An individual who delivers youth work at a member for at least 15 hours a week. They can be nominated by someone else at the same organisation for this award.

What to include in your answers?

Good nominations will directly reflect young people’s perspective on the impact this individual had on their lives, and highlight why their work exemplifies the best of youth work. Use question one to tell us about how this person has delivered great youth work. Use question two to include evidence of the impact that this person has had on young people in their own words. We suggest using question three to tell us about how this youth worker or youth professional made a difference in their wider community.

The closing date for nominations for the London Youth Awards is 23:59 on Sunday 1st October 2023. Any nominations received after this time will not be considered.
