LBA Basketball Competition

12th May 2015
Last month London Youth & Jack Petchey Foundation sponsored a Basketball Competition in partnership with LBA (London Basketball Association).
90 keen basketball players arrived form across London ready to take on the competition, with a total of 7 teams taking part. Young people showed some slick basketball skills and top level sportsmanship. It was definitely clear to see the coaches and young people put in many hours of dedicated training.
Young people's hunger was kept at bay by American style hot dogs and plenty of fruit. The officials were “off the hook,” as they took delivery with pride, the volunteers from LBA were magnificent and everyone walked away tired yet fulfilled.
This was the feedback from the young people coaches, officials and the sponsors:
“It was exciting”
“Very well organised”
“Lots of game time for all 7 teams that showed up on the day”
“The food was delicious”
“Referees were the best”
“The Thunder Dome venue was awesome”
“There was a real sense of sportsmanship throughout the day as everyone seem to appreciated the effort to make the day happen”
