About this role

Our pair of Duty Managers support the Sports Centre Manager and are at the core of the smooth running of the centre; they’re the familiar faces known by our regular customers and they’re part of a small team who run the facility day to day. Together the Duty Managers lead the team of lifeguards, oversee lifeguard staffing and training (an external trainer/assessor manages the actual NPLQ training) and the smooth operation and maintenance of the pool plant.

The pair of Duty Managers will lead a team of two Team Leaders, who in turn are supported by a team of variable hours lifeguards. You will be the line manager for approximately half of that lifeguarding team. You may also need to call upon agency lifeguards and manage them if there are staff shortages.

We run a well established Swim School. If you hold swimming teacher qualifications you will likely have the opportunity to use those and if you do not we may offer training so that you can obtain qualifications in this area, in order to broaden your experience and add operational resilience to our team.
