fbpx #iwill Week - A Summary - London Youth

28 November 2014

Friday 28 November

To celebrate #iwill week and a year of Step Up To Serve, we have been sharing a range of different youth social action stories from across our network in the last few days. Below is a summary of what we’ve been up to:

Monday 24 November

We announced our continued support for Step Up To Serve and the #iwill campaign and presented our slightly refreshed pledge.

Tuesday 25 November

You can read about Bobby, a young person who got involved in a youth social action project through his local youth club and helped his group pitch for £1000 towards their project at the first City Pitch event of 2014.

Wednesday 26 November

We focused on the range of stories and experiences from our Build-it programme. You can hear from and read the stories of both young people and youth workers who have been involved since it launched last year.

Thursday 27 November

We launched our Urban Nature case study videos. Hear from young people and youth workers from some of our member clubs about their Urban Nature projects.

Our Chief Executive Rosie Ferguson wrote a blog on the importance of ensuring that youth social action also includes young people who may not normally get involved in these opportunities.

On Thursday afternoon we also hosted the ‘Beyond The Usual Suspects’ Social Action Roundtable at the 02 Think Big Hub in Hoxton Square. This brought together a wide and varied range of organisations from across and out with the youth sector to discuss how we can ensure that youth social action is for all young people.
