Head of Finance £41,208 per annum
We’re recruiting a qualified accountant (or for someone qualified by experience) with strong practical experience of working in a charity, including restricted fund accounting, and a good understanding of trading, tax and VAT in relation to charities.
The successful candidate will have responsibility for financial controls and management accounting, leading a team of three reports at our offices in Old Street, London and at our two outdoor education centres, which operate as social enterprises.
As a member of our Leadership Team, the Head of Finance will work in partnership with our committed and passionate Heads of Department, all of whom are budget-holders. They will be interested in, and want to get involved with, the wider organisation to enable them to better support their colleagues.
The Head of Finance will be responsible for running both the annual budget and the year end processes, preparing statutory accounts for our medium sized charity. They will attend the quarterly Finance Committee and will liaise with the auditors, bank manager, insurance brokers, investment managers and other external stakeholders.
The successful candidate will have excellent communication skills, and will be able to organise conflicting priorities around the monthly management accounts cycle. They will have the desire and freedom to drive change in our processes and systems, and won’t be afraid to get stuck in to day to day tasks when required.
The role will require regular travel to our locations near East Grinstead and near Amersham, and will include occasional evening work.
