Volunteers' Week this year takes place on 1-7 June, and London Youth has a lot to celebrate. Each day this week we'll be sharing a success story from our work with volunteers involved across our network of 400 community youth organisations.
This year at London Youth we have engaged over 200 volunteers and together they have recorded 2,170 volunteering hours. They have supported community youth work right across London and our youth leadership, sports, employability and environmental programmes.
We accredit volunteers and also support them into youth leadership and other training opportunities. 39 volunteers have started their Level 2 NOCN Accreditation entitled ‘Learning from Volunteering’, and many others completed vInspired awards for 50 and 100 hours of volunteering.
Matt Dronfield, Volunteer Coordinator at London Youth, said:
"Volunteers make a huge difference to youth clubs and young Londoners; and this week we want to say well done, congratulations and thank you.
Youth services are in great need of support and we are delighted to be able to celebrate the outstanding contributions that volunteers make."
