Knights Youth Club, is a London Youth bronze youth club working with 150-200 young people from Clapham Park Estate. The youth club has been at the heart of the local community since it first opened it's doors in 1932! Despite the long history the youth workers at Knight remain committed to offering quality youth support services for young people.

Last summer the girls of Knights Youth Centre embarked on an adrenaline filled residential at Hindleap Warren, as part of the Street Survival programme. Street Survival was developed by Youth Workers at Knights Youth Club to help young people increase their self-worth, resilience and autonomy. The trip was funded by CVC Capital Partners, who worked with London Youth to provide funding to several youth clubs during the summer.

Eight young girls from different backgrounds were chosen to go on the residential trip. Despite this being their first trip away from home, the girls soon bonded and became accustomed to community living.

The girls had a great time conquering their fears of the zip wire and developing their team skills during the Forest adventure exercises. The residential also gave the youth workers an opportunity to share some crucial life skills with the girls such as team work, communication and risk management. Stu Thomson, Youth Service Director said, "The CVC funding and support provided the young people with transformative and developmental experiences".

Through the Street Survival programme, the young girls got the opportunity to make extraordinary friendships, create unforgettable memories and learn crucial life skills!
