Journaling

Brief:Helps to keep learning about themselves

Equipment: Pens, pencils, notebook and paints

Step by Step

  1. Each young person is given a note book.
  2. Before the end of each session young people can write or draw how they are feeling in these books to get things off their chest. It could be about how they felt when they woke up that morning, or about how they feel about what happened at school or about what they just did in the sessions.

Things to Consider

This is an intimate exercise to help young people express how they feel.

Explainer

This is a way to help young people connect too and acknowledge their feelings. They do not have to share what they write or draw with the group and book should be left somewhere safe where other young people cannot look through others work.
