Agenda:  The theme of this Inclusion Network is: How to deliver effective youth work with young trans people. The network event will cover the following:

  • Language and terminology with regards to gender identity
  • Safeguarding processes and procedures
  • Trans people’s rights and the law
  • Open discussion and question and answer session
London Youth recognises that youth professionals will have varying levels of experience in working with trans young people and those with different gender identities. We want to make it clear that this network event is a safe space for professionals to come together and ask questions in order to improve their knowledge and skills on the topic.

About this event

The Inclusion Network aims to provide youth professionals with the opportunity to share knowledge, expertise and resources on inclusion issues. Inclusion is understood as: reducing physical and social barriers, having a community-led approach, identifying and understanding client group’s needs, and promoting positive attitudes and behaviours towards individuals. The network also focuses on underrepresented groups, as defined in the Nine Protected Characteristics under the Equality Act 2010. You can find notes from previous meetings here.
