Safeguarding Network

25 May, 10:00 am - 12:00 pm

This network brings together designated safeguarding leads, youth practitioners and relevant stakeholders to share how we support young people to be safe from harm. We create a space for youth organisations together to share experiences, insights and useful tools and learn best practices. You will be able to share your experience and thoughts through interactive discussions and network with youth organisations across London.

We open with an update on recent developments in law and policy. Your chance to learn about new and forthcoming laws and expectations from Government for safeguarding.

Our substantive session will focus on getting ready for summer programme delivery. The session will allow you to discuss and explore how different youth organisations manage risk for their summer programme. We will consider good practice in identifying and mitigating risks of harm in youth work session and the particular dynamic of a busy summer schedule. We will also consider specifically safeguarding risks when taking young people on trips and residentials.

We will have an open space for information sharing and tackling any issues you’re facing in your role.

If you are not a member of London Youth please select ‘individual’ from the organisation drop down list.
