NDYP Trauma-Informed Training

29 January, 10:00 am - 4:00 pm

The trauma-informed training course blends theoretical knowledge with practical strategies and is designed to be directly applicable in frontline roles. The session will explore the psychological, physiological, and behavioural impacts of trauma, the influence of context and environment, and how trauma intersects with identity, perception, and coping mechanisms, including considerations around neurodiversity.

The session will include:

  • Evidence-based content and practical tools
  • Interactive elements such as case studies, group discussion, and reflective activities
  • A safe, supportive space that encourages professional learning and growth

The aim of the training, is to equip professionals with the confidence and insight to respond to trauma with compassion, improving outcomes for vulnerable children, young people, and families.

This training is part of the new training offer by the Mentoring Support Programme, an initiative funded by the Mayor of London as part of the New Deal for Young People mission. The mission was created to ensure that 100,000 disadvantaged young Londoners have access to high quality mentoring opportunities.

Our training partner  – Project 507 – offers specialist, trauma-informed training rooted in psychology and neuroscience to help organisations and practitioners reduce systemic violence and harm. Their programmes empower professionals through tailored workshops, reflective practice, and ongoing support to build more resilient, trauma-responsive cultures. www.project507.org

This training is open to all practitioners working with young people in London.
