NDYP Develop Your Mentoring Training Workshop 1: Youth Culture and the Landscape of Young People (Geographical and Contextual Understanding)
29 April, 10:30 am - 12:00 pm
This series of “train the trainer” workshops have been developed by Lifeline projects to offer an in depth look at how the mentoring quality framework supports high quality mentoring practice as part of the mentoring support programme.
The Mentoring Support Programme is an initiative funded by the Mayor of London as part of the New Deal for Young People mission. The mission was created to ensure that 100,000 disadvantaged young Londoners have access to high quality mentoring opportunities.
This training series is open to all practitioners delivering mentoring for young people in London.
This session will:
Provide a comprehensive understanding of the youth landscape, including geographical and cultural contexts, and how to apply this knowledge when training mentors to mentor young people.
- Mentoring Quality Framework (MQF) Standard 1: Programme Design and Development
- Understanding youth culture
- Geographical landscape and its impact on Mentoring
- Adapting mentoring approaches based on context
