Developing supervision skills for youth work

This practical workshop is ideal whether you’re just starting out in supervision or want to refresh your skills. With a focus on supervising the development and practice of youth work, it looks at the ethics of supervising others and the dynamics of the supervision relationship, along with a theoretical overview of the supervision process and its practical application. With opportunities to ask questions, share experiences and identify some of the specific challenges of supervising youth work, this introductory workshop will help build the skills and knowledge to approach supervision with confidence.
Learning outcomes
- The purpose and meaning of supervision within a youth work environment.
- The role and responsibilities of being a supervisor.
- Different models of supervision.
- Some of the barriers to supervision and how they can be overcome.
- An exploration of the role of reflective practice within the supervision process.

Important information about training
You can book a maximum of 2 people per organisation on a training session. Online training is interactive, you must have connection to a microphone and cameras will be encouraged to be switched on to facilitate discussion and engagement during the session and/or in breakout rooms.
Training Cancellation and No-show Policy – if you can no longer attend a training, please let us know at least working 3 days before. Cancellations made 2 working days or less before a scheduled training course may be subject to a penalty.
