We are pleased to continue our partnership with the Directory for Social Change (DSC) offering training on developing youth organisations. This training is free for London Youth members.

Courses run by DSC are widely recognised and we have worked in partnership with DSC to specifically tailor each session for youth organisations wanting to improve their overarching practices and procedures. We highly recommend attending this training, especially if you are working on any level of the Quality Mark. Please share these and all our training with the relevant people in your organisation.

Spaces will be allocated on a first come, first served basis. Please note that a maximum of 2 people per organisation can sign up.

Duties of a Trustee

Thursday 14th March, 9:30am-1pm

Essential training for new and existing trustees, during this session we provide important information that underpins the trustee role within your organisation. The session supports the development of charity trustees who want an understanding of the essentials of being an effective trustee. The session is also useful for staff in charities that need to know what trustees do and the role of a trustee.

Duties of a Trustee & Mitigating Risk and Risk Management is recommended to be taken together as a full day training.

Mitigating Risk and Risk Management

Thursday 14th March, 1:30pm-5pm

An introduction to the; tools, techniques, policies, and procedures we must have in place to effectively manage risk. This training session introduces methods of identifying and dealing with the key risks that may affect our organisations.

Thinking about Strategic Planning & Introduction to Business Planning 

Thursday 21st March, 9:30am-5pm

The purpose of this training is to introduce the process of thinking about what strategy is and why it is so important to how we manage and run our organisations. The session meets the needs of those new to developing strategy and those who also want to build their understanding or use a wider range of skills and techniques when planning strategically. 

The process of developing and implementing a business plan is fundamental to the planning process of your charity / organisation. This session introduces key elements of the business planning process.

Fundraising Writing for Beginners

Tuesday 26th March, 9:30am-5pm

This full-day training session will introduce you to the key concepts and trends in fundraising.  During the workshop, you will have the opportunity to consider the best ways to research, approach and secure funding from grant makers, corporate and individuals and start to build a meaningful fundraising strategy for your organisation.

Intermediate Fundraising Writing

Tuesday 23rd April, 9:30am-5pm

This full-day training session will introduce key concepts in the psychology of giving and how you can use these in your written approaches and meetings with supporters to secure influence and funds.

It will give you the tools to assess whether your organisation is ‘ready to fundraise’ and will also cover current trends in fundraising and how this data can help your organisation to develop impactful relationships with your supporters.
