Glen Fendley, our Director of Fundraising, was profiled in Children & Young People Now on his career so far and his work with London Youth.
Last November, I became London Youth’s first director of fundraising –I am proud to be part of an organisation that provided a safe space for me to make friends as a young black teenager.
I have joined at a critical time, and I do not underestimate the task ahead. As the regional voice for youth work, in a city where one in four citizens are aged under 18, raising income is vital to strengthen and sustain the existing network of community youth organisations.
Our members were supporting young people long before the pandemic hit, played a vital role in the pandemic response and we need them to be there for young Londoners for decades to come. To do this with far less public funding available, diversifying the charity’s income and attracting new funding audiences is paramount.”
