Volunteers are an essential part of any charity, coming from all walks of life and taking on a number of different roles within an organisation. This year we’re adding an eighth category to the London Youth Awards to recognise the incredible contribution made to the capital’s youth sector by volunteers.
Whether it’s mentoring young people, supporting governance and development, or helping to facilitate sessions with young people, we welcome nominations for all volunteers. The Volunteer of the Year award acknowledges an individual, who freely gives their time, knowledge and skills to support community youth work.
Any activity that involves spending time, unpaid, doing something that aims to benefit the environment or someone (individuals or groups) other than, or in addition to, close relatives. Central to this definition is the fact that volunteering must be a choice freely made by each individual. ”
Nominations for the London Youth Awards 2019 close on 22nd September so there’s just over a week to go to submit your nominations!
This year’s ceremony takes place on the evening of 14th November. We’re excited to welcome youth professionals, young people and supporters to City Hall. The night will be hosted by young Londoners and will showcase the best in youth work, with performances London Youth members.
