Associate Members
10 May 2017
We are excited to announce a new type of membership to work with youth work leaders at borough level to nurture and develop youth work within their local areas. We are pleased to already be welcoming the following organisations into our network: the Young People’s Foundations in Barnet, Brent, Harrow, Ealing, Camden and Westminster; as well as the Young Lambeth Co-operative, Waltham Forest United, Young Hackney and Youth First.
Through our bespoke membership offer, we will help Associate Members to develop their organisations to become more resilient, skill up their staff, and facilitate opportunities for partnership work. As part of the London Youth network, Associate Members will also have the opportunity to share learning and best-practice with similar organisations, participate in London-wide policy conversations and engage with key funders.
Our main focus continues to be to support and challenge young Londonersto become the best they can be, and we will continue to support front-line youth and community delivery organisations to do so. We will also work closely with Associate Members to facilitate local targetted support for those organisations who are supporting children and young people across London every day.
Who is eligible to become an Associate Member?
Associate membership is for youth organisations working across a borough (or more). Our membership is a reflection of the variety and diversity of the youth sector across London and, as such, we want to make sure that Associate Membership is open to all organisations who take on a leadership role within their local area. An Associate Member could be any of the types of organisations below:
- A Young People’s Foundation
- Any other local infrastructure organisation providing capacity building support and brokering funding opportunities for local delivery organisations
- Borough-wide delivery organisations working with children and young people that run several youth centres and lead on partnerships and consortia across a borough, including Mutuals and CICs.
- A youth arm of a local authority or other organisation commissioning or leading on youth work provision within a local area
