Responding to critical incidents of violence affecting young people require an understanding of how to respond to young people who may be experiencing trauma, families from diverse backgrounds under increased pressure who require support and a variety of local services. We will develop your mapping skills so you can locate yourself within your local community, and better understand local external agencies, and we will also create a critical incidents plan to build the required experience needed to be able to respond to a critical incident of violence in a culturally sensitive and effective way.

Learning objectives:

Understand the key people affected by a critical incident, and how to relate to them in a trauma-informed, culturally sensitive way.

Develop in your ability to be a conduit, connecting young people and families to external agencies

Gain an understanding of important local organisations and learn how to map connections between those organisations and develop a critical incidents plan.
