LY Youth Board Opportunities

Training Consultation – Led by Sports

The Sports Team at London Youth have secured some funding to run training for young people around London. They want to talk with you about what training needs you think young people have at the moment and the best way to provide this. We don’t have time in our regular meetings to do this consultation, but this is still really important and may give you a chance to access free training in an area of your choice. The Zoom session will be on 12th November, 5:30-6:30pm. Register your interest in the form at the bottom of the page.

Celebrating Youth Work Week 2020

Youth Work Week Event Filming – PART TWO

Youth Work Week Event Attendance

If you can, please join us for our online Youth Work Week event!  It will be on 4th November 4:30-5:30pm. You’ll have a chance to see your fellow youth board members on screen (and maybe even yourself if you took part in filming) and celebrate all the wonderful Youth Work that has gone on this year. Please book your free tickets here:  https://londonyouth.org/events/youth-work-week-showcase/

Young Advisors

Over the next few weeks there will be an opportunity to become a Young Advisor at London Youth. There will be an application process to get involved, but we will support you to ensure you create the best application possible.

Being a Young Advisor will give you the opportunity to help inform decision making at London Youth at a more deeper level and help us to deliver on our mission to support and challenge young people to become the best they can be. You will  gain valuable experience of how an organisation like London Youth is runwith frequent opportunities to interact with senior staff and trustees.  You will learn more about governance and strategy and have opportunities to learn more specialised skills in finance and charity law if you are interested in those areas. You can see our Trustees here https://londonyouth.org/about-us/our-people/

You’ll hear more about the Young Advisors soon, but if you are already interested in this opportunity, please email kadisha.james-fergus@londonyouth.org or send Kadisha a message on Whatsapp.

Black History Month

October is Black History Month in the UK. If you would like to create a written blog (about half a page long), video/picture blog (about 2 minutes), or a tweet (280 characters including spaces) we can post that up on our website or social media pages throughout this month.

You can create some content and email it to kadisha.james-fergus@londonyouth.org or send it to Kadisha on Whatsapp. We will also be covering this in our Ambassador meeting on the 21st October so you will have a chance to create some content with the group then.
