  • Primary Schools

Hindleap welcomes Primary Schools from the first week of term in September through to the last week in July. A school can choose from a one night, two day residential, up to a four night, five day residential. Hindleap regularly provides courses for Year 3, 4, 5 and 6 and our activities and facilitation can be tailored to work with all year groups and abilities.

A typical residential at Hindleap will start on the morning of day one at roughly 11am. The group will be welcomed to the centre, given a tour, settled in to their rooms and then provided with lunch. Activities will then commence after lunch and dinner will be served in the early evening followed by an evening activity. On the day of departure, the group will participate in morning activities, given lunch and the leave at roughly 1.30pm in the afternoon.

Hindleap also has indoor classroom space that can be used for teacher-led activities as well as a games room with a pool table, table tennis table and TV with DVD player. We have a tuck shop on site and offer hot chocolate and home made cookies in the evening.

We have a dedicated day course centre incorporating toilets, showers, changing facilities, a lecture room with an interactive white board and a private entrance. Our day course offer provides a high impact, affordable and exciting experience for all ages and can be booked year round.

  • Secondary Schools

Hindleap Warren has a range of options for Secondary Schools. We are open all year round and regularly provide three to five day residentials mid-week for all year groups. Our activities stretch and challenge students and our programmes can be facilitated to meet a schools desired outcome.

    Hindleap also offers the following:

    • Revision weekends for GCSE & A-Level students; providing the space for teachers to facilitate curriculum learning and utilising our professional instructors to engage students in fun and exciting outdoor adventurous activities. These trips are proving hugely popular with schools booking weekends in March, April and May.
    • Adventure weekends that include canoeing & kayaking, rock climbing and underground mine exploration. These trips could be ideal for groups such as gifted & talented, young Carers, future prefects and students not currently engaged in classroom learning.

We have a dedicated Day Course Centre incorporating toilets, showers, changing facilities, a lecture room with an interactive white board and a private entrance. Our day course offer provides a high impact, affordable and exciting experience for all ages and can be booked year round.

  • Duke of Edinburgh Award

Hindleap Warren’s campsite is set in our private 300 acre woodland in Ashdown Forest. The campsite has three separate locations and a campsite toilet and shower block. The campsite is the perfect location for an overnight stay for a D of E group on their Bronze or Silver expedition.

The cost per person is just £8 per night with a minimum booking charge of 8 people. There is vehicular access to the campsite and we ask group leaders to sign in at the Hindleap reception on arrival.

  • National Curriculum

Over the last six months Hindleap Warren has begun comparing the Key Stage 1 and Key Stage 2 National Curriculum with the learning outcomes achieved through our activities and residential experience. Through making these links, we are now able to recognise how our impact on young people currently supports learning in the classroom. These comparisons have also enabled a variety of developments within our activities and facilitation.

The information in the attached document provides a detailed analysis of which curriculum based subjects are supported by Hindleap led activities.

This is the first time Hindleap Warren has stated that our activities support the National Curriculum and we will endeavour to update content of this page as our learning progresses.
