Athan 31 Champion

Athan 31 offers a framework and funding for young people to design, deliver and learn from their own projects.

The purpose of this role is to deliver and facilitate sessions at a youth club, supporting young people to design, deliver and learn from their own activities. Following training, run sessions that help young people to get to know their strengths and weaknesses, build a team, encourage them to improve their youth club and work on a joint project with another group in their community. This means contributing positively in providing safe, creative and challenging activities which will meet the needs of the young people attending the youth club you volunteer with.

Sports Development Champion

Since 2009, London Youth has been helping to transform the lives of disadvantaged young people in local neighborhoods throughout the capital. We do this by investing in grassroots organisations and developing their capacity to deliver quality sports activities to young people.

The purpose of our Sports Development Champions is to work as part of a team of youth workers, both paid and voluntary, to support the provision of leisure and educational opportunities appropriate for young people with a wide range of abilities and interests. This means contributing positively in providing safe, creative and challenging activities which will meet the needs of all young people attending the youth club you volunteer with.

Urban Nature Champion

Urban Nature is all about the world around us, it’s about stopping for a minute and thinking about how nature can complement our urban surroundings - the trees, the gardens. The project’s aim is to work with our members to educate young people on the natural world and the effects of their actions upon it, inspiring them to benefit from and contribute to the natural environment around them throughout their lives.

As a Urban Nature Champion your will support the delivery of existing and newly established environmental projects at the youth club and maintain a warm and caring environment.

VIY Champion

VIY project combines volunteering and DIY by challenging young people aged 14-17 in deprived areas to learn vocational trade and building skills on the job by committing to fix local youth club and community buildings in need of essential repairs.

The purpose of the role is to work as part of a team of youth workers, both paid and voluntary, to support the onsite delivery of the VIY programme in multiple youth clubs across London. You will be acting as an ‘anchor’ between London Youth and the VIY clubs to facilitate communication between the VIY coordinator and the club leaders surrounding the progress and delivery of the programme whilst providing ‘on site’ practical hands on support for the staff team and young people involved in the programme.
