National Quality Standards
The London Youth Quality Mark sits at the heart of the support package that is accessible to all our members. The quality standards programme has been developed over the last four years in partnership with our accrediting partner City and Guilds and co-owners of the quality framework Youth Options.
A recent review undertaken by Clubs for Young People (CYP) of its own quality standard revealed how they wished to strengthen the benefits of its own membership offer by providing a standard that accredits the quality of services delivered to young people by robust and sustainable youth organisations.
With funding secured from the Department for Education, London Youth and CYP will now work on a national quality standard for the voluntary youth sector. Both organisations are keen to ensure that there is no duplication of resources – and that a recognisable and unique standard for our sector is created.
Leading this exciting development is Gary Hartin, Head of Quality Standards at London Youth and Rachel Smith, Head of Training at CYP. The new standard will not affect clubs and projects and organisations with existing quality assurance schemes from either of the organisations, or those in the process of achieving these awards.
We will keep you updated on our progress.
