Also referred to as Safeguarding Level 1, this is the training all staff should undertake as a minimum. Every organisation has a duty to ensure that their staff and volunteers are competent and confident in carrying out their responsibilities for safeguarding and promoting children’s and young people’s welfare. This course gives them the tools to recognise child abuse and understand what action to take, teaching knowledge and recognition of signs and indicators of abuse and how to refer to your designated person. This is:
- Suitable for all staff and volunteers who come into contract with young people. Certificates of attendance will be issued.
- This training is basic awareness, it is NOT designated person / safeguarding officer training
