NCVO is consulting on a new Code of Ethics for the charity sector, closing on 26th September.

The consultation

Due to recent high-profile misconduct and increased attention on the charity sector, NCVO is looking to create a voluntary code of ethics that will allow a framework for charities to update their own policies. It is intended to apply to:

  • Safeguarding
  • Conduct within charities
  • Safe employment practices
  • Dignity in the workplace
  • Treating all individuals with respect

The draft code, which is based on several existing codes of behaviour, has the following principles:

  • Beneficiaries first
  • Integrity
  • Openness
  • Right to be safe

Have your say

If you would like to have your say, contact NCVO before 26th September.
