Jon Ruddock

in

Jon joined London Youth in 1998 as a part-time lifeguard and swimming teacher. He became Recreation Centre Manager in 2009 and our new Woodrow Facilities Manager in September 2011.

Before working at Woodrow, one highlight of his earlier career was lifeguarding in Hong-Kong.

Marie Witton

in

Marie is our Bookkeeper at Woodrow High House. Marie joined London Youth in 2007 as the Centre Secretary, before changing her role after maternity leave for her second child Luca. Prior to this, Marie worked for Woolworths.

Marie was born in Sweden and is married with two children.

Nick Rush

in

Nick Rush is the Head of Maintenance at Hindleap Warren and has worked at the Centre for one and a half years.

Nick trained as a marine engineer and has in the past worked for John Deere tractors. Nick is currently enjoying learning all there is to know about chainsaws and their operation. Since starting work at Hindleap Nick has been introduced to the world of climbing and more recently took on some snow and ice climbs in Snowdonia. He is very keen to get out and use all his new gear on some real rock climbs this summer. 

Maurice Dimbi

in

Maurice Dimbi works as a Housekeeping Assistant at Hindleap Warren and has been at the Centre for just over a year.

Maurice is from the Democratic Republic of Congo and is trained in the field of horticulture (if you'll pardon the pun!) Maurice is married with two sons and enjoys reading in his spare time. Maurice is also an active member of his local church. 

Lenny Black

in

Lenny Black is an Instructor at Hindleap Warren and has been at the Centre for two and a half years.

Lenny has been working in the outdoor sector for 12 years and has worked with a variety of clients including those with disabilities at the Calvert Trust. Lenny was extremely pleased to pass his Mountain Leader Assessment in 2010.

Lenny enjoys sailing, paddling, climbing, mountaineering and going on expeditions. Lenny has been round the world twice, taught sailing in the Caribbean and has climbed Mont Blanc (4800m). 

Dylan Sharman

in

Dylan Sharman is an Instructor at Hindleap Warren and has worked at the Centre for one and a half years.

Dylan has been instructing for almost 20 years and teaches a wide range of activities including canoeing, kayaking, caving, mining, climbing and his personal favourites: mountain biking and bushcraft.

Dylan has a three year old daughter, Mia, who loves swimming (as long as there aren’t any sharks around!) He loves to travel and has been on lots of mini adventures all around the world. 

Ben Statton

in

Ben Statton is our Senior Instructor at Hindleap Warren and has been at the Centre for five and a half years.

His qualifications include Single Pitch Award, British Canoe Union Level Three Coach and Five Star Kayak and PCV D1. Before coming to Hindleap Ben was the senior instructor at a Girl Guiding centre and also worked providing adventurous activities across Dartmoor.

Rosie Cole

in

Rosie Cole is our Senior Instructor at Hindleap Warren and has worked at the Centre for three and a half years.

Rosie is a qualified Secondary School Science teacher and completed her PGCE at Cambridge University.

Mark Saville

in

Mark Saville works as an Instructor at Hindleap Warren and has been at the Centre for six months.

Mark has a first class degree in Adventure Education and has worked in the outdoor sector for five years including time as a climbing wall manager in Twickenham.

Jude Russell

in

Jude Russell works as an Instructor at Hindleap Warren and has been at the Centre for over a year now.

Jude previously worked as a nursery nurse and has an NVQ in Childcare. Jude completed a Diploma in Outdoor Education and gained many skills that she now uses at Hindleap.

Jude spent last winter working in the French Alps where she got to spend a lot of time snowboarding. Outside of work Jude enjoys climbing, kayaking, dancing, shopping and snowboarding. Jude loves to travel and is planning her next big trip to Australia and Malaysia.
